Awhile ago I decided that I needed an aftermarket boost gauge as my first upgrade to my VR4. But, being a fairly large geek, I like electronics and wanted a gauge with an LCD instead of an analog display. I looked around for a while but couldn't find anything reasonably priced that would do what I wanted. But I did stumble across a page from a guy in the UK that made a boost gauge himself! (I can't find the page again or I would link to him and give credit where credit is due :) ) The only problem was that his output was a series of LEDs. That was not good enough. So I read his page and decided that I would follow in his footsteps and make my own gauge. Here are some of the pics:

I swear I wasn't trying ;)

The gauge has certainly come a long way from its original setup on a bre ad board and one of these days I might actually finish it to my liking! I still have a lot of work that I want to do on it in its current state.

Obviously a better mounting of the gauge is the first order of business, but at least it is working correctly. And the clear plastic enclosure can be replaced with a variety of colors. On my drive up to NG05, I actually came up with a good way to mount it on a A-Pillar. When I got from the the gathering I got my plastic shop to mock up an enclosure real quick for me, and it works pretty well. I wish I would have just went with the A-pillar from the start because now I don't like the location of the plug, but thats what prototyping is all about, right? I will come out with some new pics in the somewhat near future, hold tight!

Sorry for the bad quality of some of these pics, I will be updating as I have time.
